Job Description

1Energy is growing rapidly so this is an excellent opportunity to join a developing business and become involved from the outset. We are looking for a commercial analyst to support the business across existing and new projects within the organisation.

The role sits within the finance team and works flexibly across projects, supporting the project and leadership teams to make informed decisions. We are looking for a detail-oriented candidate with a good background in data manipulation and interpretation who can communicate effectively with the wider team.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide commercial analysis for projects across the 1Energy Group.
  • Financial modelling of the district heat network projects.
  • Developing and maintaining project assumptions database including CAPEX and OPEX.
  • Customer pricing analysis, including maintaining pricing database and comparative analysis with alternative heating sources.
  • Working closely with contractual partners on techno-economic modelling, reviewing technical and economic performance of new and existing projects.
  • Sensitivity and scenario analysis.
  • Working closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Present analysis and findings to key stakeholders, provide insightful recommendations and drive data-informed decisions.

Core requirements

  • Highly numerate and logical – preferably will have a degree in a STEM or related subject.
  • Modelling and pricing analysis experience – ideally 1-2 years’ experience in a similar commercial role.
  • Ability to think analytically with good organisation skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft packages, Excel essential.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and develop an excellent working knowledge of the business and sector.

Desirable

  • Experience working within the renewable energy or district/community heating sector.
  • Strong business acumen and financial literacy.
