1Energy is growing rapidly so this is an excellent opportunity to join a developing business and work at the core of the organisation’s activities from the outset. The role sits within the finance team and will report to, and be supported by, the Head of Finance. We are developing quickly so a confident approach and an eagerness to get involved is essential.

We are looking for a Financial Manager who can bring strong technical knowledge and relevant experience to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial records through effective and efficient financial management.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparation and production of monthly Management Accounts, including monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries.
  • Maintain and manage the Fixed Asset Registers, ensure accurate recognition of fixed asset additions, disposals, depreciation and impairment.
  • Oversight of day-to-day operational running of finance, with involvement in everything from transactional level up.
  • Accurate and timely preparation of all VAT returns, ensuring compliance with current rules (CIS, DRC).
  • Audit – planning, preparation, and delivery of external Audit and drafting year-end accounts under FRS102.
  • Ensure the business adheres to all financial and accounting regulations and legislation.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting as required.
  • Assist with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts as required.
  • Assist with the development of standardised reporting across the businesses.

Core requirements

  • Finalist or Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
  • Detailed technical accounting knowledge and proven experience in a similar role.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft packages, Excel essential.
  • Flexible, adaptable and motivated with a proactive approach.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and develop an excellent working knowledge of the business and sector.

Desirable

  • Experience of large-scale capital construction projects/CAPEX accounting.
  • Knowledge of Xero.
  • Audit practice background.
  • Experience of procurement processes.
